Estes Express Lines Expanding to Lewiston
National trucking company relocating its Maine operations center
Lewiston—Estes Express Lines, a nationwide trucking company based in Richmond, VA, has selected Lewiston as the site for its expanded Maine operations center. The company is slated to break ground on a new 15,000 sq. ft. South Lewiston facility off River Road later this year.
Estes has been a leader in motor freight distribution since its founding in 1931. With 181 terminals across America, Estes employs more than 13,500 people and maintains a fleet of over 27,000 trucks and trailers. The company provides direct service to 46 states and the Caribbean, and through its partners in the ExpressLINK network, it delivers goods throughout all of North America.
Estes Express Lines currently operates a facility in Scarborough, but the continued growth of its business in the region had Estes looking for a new Maine home. The company's search led them to Lewiston.
“Estes Express Lines is excited to be partnering with the Lewiston community as we develop our River Road site,” said Angela Maidment, Director of Real Estate and Economic Development. “It has been a pleasure working with a city that welcomes new businesses and proactively provides support to those seeking growth opportunities.”
“The City is very pleased that Estes Express Lines has selected Lewiston as its new expansion site,” noted Lewiston Mayor Lionel Guay. “This decision reaffirms our status as a premier location for distribution-related services. With easy access to the Maine Turnpike and nearby Foreign Trade Zone, we expect to continue attracting outstanding businesses like Estes Express Lines.”
