Estes Express Lines creates Estes Air Forwarding LLC;
New company offers world of services for customers
RICHMOND, VA—Estes Express Lines announced today that its Estes Air division will be legally reorganized as Estes Air Forwarding LLC effective July 1, 2007. The new firm will provide an array of air and ground services to meet time-definite transportation needs of customers around the globe.
“Our vision is for Estes Air Forwarding to be a leader in the industry by offering flexible, customized transport and product rollout options that serve customers no matter where or how they need to ship,” said Scott Fisher, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Estes Air Forwarding LLC. “We provide virtually unlimited solutions when time and flexibility are the driving factors. Our two greatest advantages are our people and our relationship with Estes Express Lines,” he added. “Our team at Estes Air Forwarding is dedicated to generating the results that keep our customers coming back. And our relationship with Estes is a big advantage, giving us access to a vast array of physical assets. Together, these two factors put us in a position second to none in our industry.”
The changeover has been planned for about a year, according to Billy Hupp, COO for Estes Express Lines and CEO for Estes Air Forwarding. “Creating a new company from an internal division of Estes Express Lines was a logical expansion into a global sector with unlimited growth potential,” said Hupp. “That expansion gives us the perfect opportunity to provide even better and more comprehensive service to our customers.”
An added benefit of independence for the new company is that it can focus the necessary resources on compliance with increasingly strict regulations of the U.S. Transportation Security Administration. “We will be heavily involved in TSA training, security and threat analysis procedures and will be open to TSA audits and inspections at any time,” said Steven Mulloy, Vice President of Operations for Estes Air Forwarding. “It is all part of our vision to become a global player meeting the needs of our customers better than any of our competitors—large or small.”
Established as Estes Air in 2003, the operation has experienced a 70 percent annual growth rate. The number of staff serving clients has grown from 15 people at the start of 2006 to more than 70 team members now.
Estes Air Forwarding LLC offers special time-definite services such as flatbed, home delivery, air charter, crane-assisted and temperature-controlled transportation. In addition, the company provides 24/7 tracking, monitoring and reporting, as well as expertise for coordinating large, time-sensitive product rollouts on a local, regional or national basis.
