Successful expansion in Upper Midwest prompts Estes to open new terminal in Wausau, WI
Richmond, VA—Estes Express Lines, a premier freight transportation provider, announced today that it has opened a new terminal in Wausau, WI, as part of the company’s expanding service coverage in the Upper Midwest. The Wausau location provides comprehensive direct service to all of north-central Wisconsin, and is located on 5003 West Sherman Street, Wausau, WI, 54401. New Terminal Manager Manuel Reyes can be contacted at (715) 849-1400, via fax at (715) 849-1401 or by e-mail at email@example.com.
The need for a new site was the result of Estes’ very successful expansion into the Upper Midwest in March. “We were very gratified at our customers’ enthusiastic response to our presence in the region,” said COO and Executive Vice President Billy Hupp. “As a result, we needed to add capacity to keep up with the growing demand.” Wausau’s diverse economic base and central location at the intersection of two major transportation routes turned out to be the perfect location for Estes to add that capacity.
In addition to building its upper-midwestern network, however, Estes recognized that the new terminal would also make the system more efficient with respect to the cost of fuel. “This move has helped us better contain our fuel spend by reducing pedal-run miles. The closer we are to the customer, the better,” said Hupp. “So it’s a win-win situation all around.”
