Estes Celebrates Opening Of New Cinnaminson Terminal

RICHMOND, VA– Earlier this week, Estes, the largest, privately owned freight carrier in North America, held a grand opening event for its terminal in Cinnaminson, N.J. The Cinnaminson terminal is one of 29 terminals Estes acquired from former transportation provider, Yellow. Estes plans to open three terminals across the U.S. in June.

Located at 2300 Garry Road, the terminal provides a substantial increase in capacity for Estes with 32,000 square feet of dock area, 6,900 square feet of office space, and seven bays—on a 12.72-acre site near I-95, I-295, and US-130. Previously, the terminal had 30 doors and was retrofitted to offer 92 doors. This is the sixth terminal for Estes in New Jersey, and it employs over 60 people.

“Terminal capacity is crucial in easing congestion and unlocking efficiency, reliability, and value for our customers,” said Al Bucher, corporate vice president of operations. “We’re working hard to get each terminal back online and are excited to offer our New Jersey and Philadelphia-area customers an enhanced experience.”

In total, Estes plans to open 20 terminals in 2024, adding an additional 985 doors to Estes’ network. With the acquisition, Estes has also added over 130 tractors and 6,000 trailers along with thousands of other pieces of equipment like load bars, airbags, and freight tables to its fleet.

“This is an unprecedented year of growth and acquisition for Estes, and I applaud our team for their speed and agility in getting terminals like Cinnaminson up and running as soon as possible,” said Billy Hupp, corporate executive vice president. “It exemplifies the grit, resiliency, and can-do spirit of each and every one of our employees and how we work together to provide exceptional service to our customers.”
